After a disappointing season-opening loss on the road against the New York Giants, the Cowboys returned to AT&T Stadium for their home opener against the Washington Commanders and treated fans to some offensive fireworks.
However, questions still remain for the Cowboys defense. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was carving Dallas up through the air and with his legs until he exited with a gruesome elbow injury on the final play of the first half. The defense was able to slow down backup quarterback Marcus Mariota in the second half, but there were still many difficult moments for Christian Parker’s unit.
The dichotomy of Prescott’s performance and another spotty outing from the defense led to some mixed reviews .
