ARLINGTON — The Dallas Cowboys lost two defensive players to injury during Sunday’s victory over the Washington Commanders.
Safety P.J. Locke and cornerback Cobie Durant were ruled out at halftime of the Week 2 contest.
Locke went down with a right foot injury on a third-down play during Washington’s first offensive drive in the first quarter.
Durant injured his hamstring during the final sequence of the first half as the Commanders were threatening to score near Dallas’ goal line. Durant’s injury happened a couple of plays before Washington QB Jayden Daniels injured his left elbow.
Cowboys linebacker Dee Winters suffered a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. He returned to the game late in the period.
Middle linebacker Jaishawn Barham suffered a stinger and also threw up during the contest. Barham left for a few moments but returned.
Locke slowly walked off the field toward the sideline after his injury. He was later taken to the locker room for further evaluation. Winters was taken to the sideline for evaluation after he tackled Commanders running back Rachaad White on a third-and-long with 13:40 left in the second quarter.
Hooker and Overshown are projected to miss one to two weeks. Their status for the Week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens is in question.
