Thanksgiving will be here before you know it and … surprise, surprise … El Paso is probably not going to see a very cold one.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has given us their forecast for the Thanksgiving holiday and, for not only El Paso but also across the entire USA, it doesn’t look like anything major will happen.

Good news for travelers as they don’t predict anything that will drastically affect travel. Unless the government shutdown sends all the air traffic controllers home and flights get grounded. We’ll see …

You never really know for sure what the weather will do but the Old Famer’s Almanac has been holding a solid 80% accuracy rate since about 1792 so, they’re a safe bet. According to them, the northeast and the pacific northwest will be a little colder than normal but everybody else will be fair to warm.

What Can Texas Expect?

Texas is going to be warm across the board with no cold or chilly temps anywhere below the Panhandle. El Paso will keep this “summer light” thing going, (probably ’til December), so; don’t put away your summer gear yet.

New Mexico looks about the same with no “chilly” areas until very near the New Mexico/Colorado state line. Oddly, Arizona shows a wider chunk of cool/chilly area than NM.

California’s As Cold As Colorado??

Even weirder, pretty much ALL of California is in the cool zone and everything above NM and Arizona is blue too. Check out the old Farmers Almanac map here.  Bummer for winter fans in the 915 but, ‘ya gotta admit, having bbq’s and wearing shorts for 80% – 90% of the year is pretty … no pun intended … cool.
