In a social media announcement on Monday, September 21, the organizer said it’s launching a Haunted Hayride experience for a limited time at the fairgrounds at 723 Frost Bank Center Drive.

The grounds will look drastically different from what you’re used to — forget the sweet treats and lovable animals. The area will be “filled with eerie scenes, unexpected scares, and thrilling encounters designed for Halloween fans looking for a fright-filled adventure,” according to a post.

The event will be available starting Thursday, October 22, and will run each night through Saturday, October 24. Operating hours will be 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and tickets are already on sale via the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo website. Tickets cost $28 each.

Guests who opt in for some frights will board hayride trailers and journey through the “haunted” grounds, the organizer says. It’s designed to create “an unforgettable night of Halloween thrills, suspense, and scares,” and is recommended for ages 12 and older.

Folks can arrive early or hang around after their trip for food, drinks, and a live DJ. On-site merchandise from the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Outfitters will also be available.

The nonprofit has served as an educational platform for Texas youth, offering competitions and a marketplace to showcase their stock. The annual February event has also helped raise more than $295 million through scholarships, grants, endowments, and more, according to its site.
