SAN ANTONIO – High school district rivals are heating up in the Alamo City. Our Big Game Coverage took the KSAT Sports team out to Boerne and then to the Northside gym.
Boerne Greyhounds vs. Alamo Heights
The Boerne Greyhounds hosted the Alamo Heights Mules on Tuesday night for a huge district battle.
In the first set, Heights got the ball over. Then Boerne’s Isabella Pettet set it up, and Lauren Magnus, with one more touch left, fakes it and the ball falls — Boerne with the point.
Still in the first set, the Mules used their height. Lillian Taylor with the block. Point, Alamo Heights.
This game stayed close all three sets, but the Boerne Greyhounds swept Alamo Heights.
Harlan Hawks vs. Brennan Bears
Our second volleyball game is a classic one-versus-two: the Brennan Bears and the Harlan Hawks.
In the second set, Bears’ Khloe Cisneros digs it up, then Aracely Pedraza sets it up, and Kayla Rodriguez slams it down. Bears point. Third set, 1-1. Hawks Cecily Fernandez gets the dig, and then Camryn Batta sets up Nailah Randle for the kill; Hawks point.
The Brennan Bears take the Harlan Hawks to five sets, but Harlan has the last laugh on Tuesday, 3-2.
