SAN ANTONIO – A 62-year-old man was walking through a marked crosswalk on the Southeast Side earlier this month when he was struck and killed by a driver who kept going.
The deadly accident happened around 6 a.m. on Sept. 15 along Southeast Loop 410 access road at Rigsby Avenue.
Police said a witness saw Dorman Lynn Cranston walking in the crosswalk when an older-model, light-colored vehicle accelerated into the intersection and hit him. The impact dragged Cranston some distance before the vehicle stopped.
Investigators said the driver remained there briefly before leaving the scene.
Cranston was pronounced dead at the scene.
