SAN ANTONIO — Going to an event at the Alamodome is about to get more expensive, with higher parking prices and an increase in a fee charged on tickets included in San Antonio’s FY 2027 budget.

The city’s budget raises the range for Alamodome parking from $10-$60 to $15-$75 per space, depending on the type of event. The city estimates the higher parking fees will bring in an additional $527,374 during FY 2027.

The Alamodome Facility Access Fee is also increasing by $1, from $6.50 to $7.50 for each ticket sold for concerts, sporting events, competitions and entertainment shows.

That increase is expected to generate another $197,340 in FY 2027. Both the parking and facility access fees were last adjusted in 2025, according to the budget.

The city’s new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.

Part of the additional parking revenue will be used to cover the cost of police traffic control at Alamodome events.

The budget shifts nearly $974,000 in police overtime expenses from the city’s General Fund to the Community and Visitor Facilities Fund. The budget specifically states that the expense “will be funded by increased parking fee at the Alamodome.”

A separate budget summary rounds that amount to $1 million annually, showing $1 million in FY 2027 and another $1 million in FY 2028 for police overtime at Alamodome events being funded through Alamodome event revenue instead of the General Fund.

The increases don’t necessarily mean every driver will pay $75 to park. The budget establishes a range of $15 to $75, with the price depending on whether the Alamodome is hosting a community event, entertainment event, sporting competition or concert.

The FY 2027 budget takes effect with the start of the city’s new fiscal year on Oct. 1.
