TCU’s All Campus Worship Night took place Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom.
ACW is an event co-hosted by several student organizations, including International Christian Fellowship, Baptist Student Ministry, Chi Alpha and Beta Upsilon Chi.
The event has taken place every semester since the spring of 2024, growing from around 100 students at its inception to more than 300 at the most recent event.
The night featured live music, prayer and testimonies from students involved in on-campus ministries and various Christian denominations.
The student testimonies were a major feature of the event. They were presented through pre-recorded videos to control the timing of the event and mitigate potential differences among the many denominations represented by attendees.
The testimonies presented resonated with students in attendance, including Ernest Ward, a junior data science major, who highlighted the emotional and passionate stories shared.
“The testimonies were very powerful and were spoken with great conviction,” Ward said. “It was just so awesome to see how God had saved them and then worked through them to use their testimony for his kingdom.”
Ward also highlighted what he saw as the significance of students from different churches and denominations coming together for the same purpose.
“I think it’s just a testament to how great our God is,” he said.
The concept for ACW originated with Roshni Ruben, a senior business information systems and supply chain management double major, who currently serves as one of the event’s co-leaders. She proposed the idea to other campus ministry leaders, who embraced her vision of bringing a large group of students together for worship.
Ruben’s dream is one that, she believes, was inspired by her faith.
“The Lord had placed this in my heart; I know for sure it was his desire, not my own,” she said.
As a senior, Ruben is beginning to pass the reins of leadership to the next generation, but she believes the organization is in good hands.
Her vision for the future is not centered on attracting more attendees or moving to a larger venue. Instead, she said she hopes the event remains focused on following God’s direction.
“I can sit here and say, ‘This is what I want this to look like five years from now,’ but God knows what he’s gonna make of it,” she said. “It’s not my vision; it is the Lord’s will be done as it is in heaven.”
