SAN ANTONIO — Fourteen older adults from San Antonio’s comprehensive senior centers will showcase their talents Friday during the “Senior Centers Got Talent” finals at the Doris Griffin Senior Center.
The event, hosted by the city’s Department of Human Services, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 6157 N.W. Loop 410. Performers will sing, dance, play instruments and perform comedy skits.
The competition is part of National Senior Center Month, which is recognized each September by the National Institute of Senior Centers. Auditions were held throughout the month at the city’s 12 senior centers, with the top performers advancing through semifinal rounds.
Senior center members are invited to attend.
The city’s 12 comprehensive senior centers serve more than 3,500 older adults daily and offer health and wellness programs, case management, technology instruction, nutrition education, exercise and social activities.
