San Antonio parents are getting another outlet for finding stylish and safe furnishings for their children’s rooms.
While parent company Pottery Barn dates back to 1948, the child-centered division got its start in 1999 when two mothers joined forces to offer parents decor options built for children that were not only safe but also were fun and looked good.
Pottery Barn’s approach to interior design is carried over into its children’s brand, with offerings such as wicker-basket bassinets and classic wooden cribs. But the children’s line also includes playful elements, such as a castle playhouse loft bed and plush chairs adorned with embroidered names and faces of animals like deers, bears and elephants.
The store will be joining Mediterranean restaurant Cava and Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos, as well as H-E-B at the Shops at Lincoln Heights. La La Land Kind Cafe also is moving into the shopping plaza. It will be the second San Antonio location for the cafe, which currently operates out of the Shops at La Cantera.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Pottery Barn Kids,” said Kraig McCoy, associate director of property management for the Shops at Lincoln Heights. “It’s a great addition to our tenant mix, bringing something unique to the shopping center that we know our customers will appreciate. We’re excited to see the brand become part of the local community and look forward to supporting its success.”
Pottery Barn Kids is just down the road from a Pottery Barn at the Quarry, located less than a mile away.
The kids and baby furniture store will open at 10 a.m. Saturday. Its hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Before the addition of the Lincoln Heights location, the closest Pottery Barn Kids store was its Austin site.
