One of the nation’s largest Coca-Cola bottlers has expanded its operations in San Antonio.

The new line will add mini Coke, Coke Zero and Sprite cans to the production mix — helping meet growing demand for the products. The plant also pumps out cans of Coca-Cola, Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite and Sprite Zero Sugar.

The investment, which is one of the largest the company has made in San Antonio, will increase its capacity to store products in its warehouse by 20%, according to a news release. This will allow for the Dallas-based company to better manage the influxes in demand during the holidays and adapt to other seasonal fluctuations.

“Geographically, our San Antonio facility plays such an important role in our territory. It is the right time to invest in this expansion project as our business continues to grow year after year,”  said Susanne Brady-Lusk, president of Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. “This decision reflects our confidence in the future of San Antonio and Central Texas. We have the people, capabilities and infrastructure needed to serve our customers and communities in this region for many years to come.”

The company serves more than 31 million consumers throughout Texas and in parts of New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas. It operates seven production plants and 37 distribution facilities.

The San Antonio expansion reflects a larger investment the company is making in Texas to strengthen its position in the Southwest market.

It invested $250 million to open a production and distribution plant in Houston that opened in 2020. It started a three-year $168 million expansion of its Fort Worth facility in 2024. In February, the company opened a 120,0000-square-foot distribution facility in Waco.

Coca-Cola has had a presence in the Alamo City for nearly 60 years. It employs 900 people locally, up from nearly 800 employees at the start of 2025.
