The San Antonio-based supermarket chain is giving away gift bags to veterans this Veterans Day. The gift bags include H-E-B brand items and a note of gratitude, and will be distributed at Texas store locations and at local veteran nonprofits, like community VFW and American Legion locations. Gift bags are limited to one per veteran.

These efforts are part of H-E-B’s Operation Appreciation program, which strives to honor the nation’s heroes year-round by supporting military service members, veterans and their families. The program, launched in 2013, has donated over $17 million to military-based nonprofits in Texas. H-E-B has since hired more than 30,000 veterans and military spouses, earning recognition from Forbes as a top workplace for military veterans.

H-E-B will distribute gift bags to veterans inside their stores on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
