Saturday is forecast to have a high of 94 degrees, though the heat index could make it feel like 97 degrees in some spots.

Temperatures are forecast to hit a low of 74 degrees with mostly clear skies in the evening.

A decaying thunderstorm could cross the Red River and reach the northern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth area Sunday morning. But outside of that, rain chances will be “slim to none” until after Tuesday, according to the weather service.

An active pattern with “wetting rains/storms” and lower temperatures could move through North and Central Texas next week. Chances of rain are more likely on Tuesday and Wednesday. From Wednesday onward, temperatures could reach a high between 83 and 89 degrees.

The active pattern follows weeks of hot and dry temperatures in Dallas. From July 16 to Sunday, the area saw no measurable rain — 67 days total. The time period was tied as the second driest streak on record in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The driest weekend was 84 days from July 1 to Sept. 22, 2000.
