SAN ANTONIO — Customers at a West Side bar were unable to leave for hours after a police shooting unfolded in the parking lot Friday night, with some later finding flat tires or damage to their vehicles.
The shooting happened outside Kozy Korner near Ruiz Street and North San Marcos. A woman whose family owns the bar said customers were inside preparing for its weekly pool tournament when officers and a man armed with a shotgun ended up in the parking lot.

In a Facebook post, she said customers could not safely return to their vehicles until about 6 a.m. Some found their cars had flat tires, while others documented vehicle damage once the scene was cleared.
The bar did not close until about 7:30 a.m., after staff made sure customers could retrieve their vehicles and get home safely, she said.
Police Chief Jesse Salame said officers were initially called to a nearby PikNik convenience store after someone reported a man with a gun. Officers located the man about a block away near Kozy Korner.
Newly obtained video shows the man carrying a large duffel bag as officers repeatedly ordered him to show his hands and put the bag down. Officers believed the bag contained a long gun.
After the man moved between vehicles and did not comply with commands, officers fired less-lethal beanbag rounds, Salame said. He said the man later emerged from behind a vehicle, racked a shotgun and pointed it at officers.
Ten officers opened fire, striking the man multiple times. A shotgun was recovered near where he fell.
The man, who police said is in his 30s, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. No officers were injured.
