SAN ANTONIO — Authorities have identified an airman found dead inside a burned vehicle near a Florida military installation as a 26-year-old woman from Boerne, Texas.
The Air Force Medical Examiner positively identified the victim as Senior Airman Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley.
Base personnel found her body Wednesday morning inside a charred automobile located on range property near Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
The news hits close to home in the Texas Hill Country. Boerne sits roughly 30 miles northwest of San Antonio, a region widely recognized as “Military City, USA.”
Federal investigators stated that the death remains under active investigation and no additional details have been released. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations has led the inquiry alongside local sheriff’s deputies.
Bolden-Cleckley, a diagnostic imaging specialist attached to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron, had been serving in the Air Force since 2021.
Support resources and counseling services have been made available to affected airmen and family members.
