It’s officially fall, but that doesn’t mean the heat has gone away. It’s hot in Texas and San Antonians are begging for a cold front to arrive. Well, keep begging, San Antonio.

The National Weather Service’s Austin/San Antonio office is predicting a minor cold front to hit the Alamo City, but don’t pull out your winter coats just yet. If things go as expected, San Antonians will see the temperature highs fall below 90 degrees for the first time in months.

Temperatures on Monday, September 28, are expected to see a low of 76 degrees and highs of 95 degrees. Those temperature highs could see slight dips to 94 and 93 degrees on Tuesday, September 29, and Wednesday, September 30, respectively, with lows of 77 and 78 degrees.

Then on Thursday, October 1, the minor cold front arrives with San Antonio seeing lows of 76 degrees and highs of 89. The temps on Friday, October 2, follow the pattern with lows of 73 and highs of 87. The minor cold front is expected to follow increase rain chances as NWS predicts rain chances around 50% Wednesday through Friday.

The I-35 corridor is expected to see similar temperature drops. New Braunfels is expected to see lows of 71 and highs of 88 degrees on Friday. Meanwhile San Marcos could see lows of 71 and highs of 87 degrees. Both towns will see 45% chance of rain at the end of the week, according to the NWS.
