SAN ANTONIO — A man was critically injured in a shooting after an argument between family members spilled outside an apartment complex on the city’s Southeast Side.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, in the 3200 block of Bolmore Drive. San Antonio police said a family was arguing outside an apartment when a neighbor came outside and attempted to break up the dispute. One family member reportedly told the neighbor to stay out of the argument and return to his apartment.

Both sides went back inside, but police said the family later returned outside and began arguing again. Investigators said the neighbor then came outside and opened fire.

A man involved in the earlier confrontation was shot near the neck. Emergency crews took him to a hospital in critical condition.

Police later located the suspected shooter nearby. Officers chased him on foot for a short distance before taking him into custody for questioning.

No other injuries were reported.
