Things aren’t going so great for the Cowboys to start the second half. After their first drive ended with a turnover, the Cowboys had to settle for a long field goal despite a big completion from Dak Prescott to George Pickens. It appeared Prescott found Pickens for a 20-yard connection to convert a third-and-9, but a holding call on Terence Steele negated the play. They couldn’t pick up the first down after the penalty, so the Cowboys attempted a 59-yard field goal. Brandon Aubrey’s kick was blocked. Cowboys trail by four points.

Dallas opened the second half with a strong drive, but the momentum came to a screeching halt with a turnover. Dak Prescott threw a shovel pass to tight end Jake Ferguson, who had the ball punched out by a Ravens defender. Baltimore secured the loose ball. The Cowboys still have some work to do.

The Cowboys couldn’t get into the end zone, but they did cut into Baltimore’s lead before the break. Brandon Aubrey came on for his second field goal of the day, drilling a 38-yarder with 0:23 left in the second. Dallas trails Baltimore 17-13 as the first half ends in Rio de Janeiro.

The Cowboys are looking to regain momentum after stumbling throughout the second quarter. Baltimore holds a 7-point lead after Tyler Loop hit a 27-yard field goal. Dallas has some work to do if it wants to get into the end zone before the first half ends.

And the pendulum swings in Baltimore’s favor. The Ravens have controlled the clock to open the second quarter, pushing back on Dallas’ defense after its dominant start. Two defensive pass interference calls helped the Ravens march downfield. A 49-yard defensive pass interference penalty set them up near the goal line, giving Derrick Henry a chance to score another rushing touchdown. He ran past the Cowboys’ defense for a 3-yard score. Ravens lead 14-10 with 11:29 left in the second.

The first quarter has ended in Rio. Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton came up with a pass breakup as the period ended. The Cowboys will likely punt the ball away to start the second.

The Ravens are right back in this one. Baltimore’s offense has woken up after a slow start to the game. This time, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry led a 6-play, 60-yard drive to cut into Dallas’ lead. Henry took a direct snap into the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown run. Cowboys lead 10-7 with 1:22 left in the first.

The Cowboys are setting a dominant tone in this one. After the defense stuffed Ravens RB Derrick Henry, Dallas’ offense came through with another physical drive. Javonte Williams closed out the scoring drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to extend Dallas’ lead. Cowboys are up 10-0 with 4:35 left in the first.

The Cowboys were rolling early. Dallas’ defense stuffed Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, then Javonte Williams and the Cowboys’ run game barreled downfield smoothly. The drive was halted near the end zone when Dak Prescott was sacked by a blitzing Roquan Smith. Cowboys lead 3-0 with 8:10 left in the first quarter.

The Cowboys are warming up in Rio de Janeiro. Kicker Brandon Aubrey is already getting a feel for the field ahead of a pivotal matchup.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is at Maracanã Stadium, where he has taken time to talk with reporters before kickoff. Jones says the playing surface is facing a “real test” Sunday.

Asked Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about how curious he is to see this field in action.

“That’s the real test. Pushing off [it]. The big boys pushing off. This first blush looking at it … it’s pretty solid. At halftime we’ll have another look at it.” pic.twitter.com/u1Y4kLyKXX
