Injuries are piling up across the Dallas Cowboys’ defense.

The team was already thin at the safety spot going into a Week 3 meeting with the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. On Sunday, Dallas saw defensive backs like Jalen Thompson and Shavon Revel sustain injuries.

Thompson went down with a hamstring injury in the second quarter against the Ravens. The safety got caught in an awkward position as Dallas’ defense tried to stop Ravens running back Derrick Henry with 7:23 left in the quarter. Thompson was down for a brief moment before he was helped off the field by members of the Cowboys’ training staff. The Cowboys ruled Thompson out for the game at the start of the third quarter.

After Thompson was hurt, safety Markquese Bell left the game in the third as he dealt with dehydration. Bell returned to the game later in the second half.

The injury issues continued late into the matchup as Shavon Revel went down early in the fourth. Revel walked off the field under his own power, but he was later deemed questionable to return with a knee injury.

The Cowboys also took a hit on the defensive line when defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard went out in the fourth quarter. Bullard was deemed questionable to return with a calf injury. Edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku was helped off the field in the fourth, but he returned on Baltimore’s final drive.

The Cowboys are dealing with several injuries in the secondary. Malik Hooker (forearm) and P.J. Locke (torn plantar fascia) were ruled out for the Week 3 matchup with Baltimore. The Cowboys placed Locke on injured reserve Saturday.

Bell, Caleb Downs and Alijah Clark played in the safety spots for Dallas in Thompson’s absence.
