As division winners, the entire best-of-three series between the Astros (81-81) and Chicago White Sox (84-78) will be played at Daikin Park. The series begins with Game 1 at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with Game 2 at 4 p.m. Wednesday. A third game, if necessary, would be played Thursday, but the time is still up in the air, depending on how many other series are still being played that day. Game 3 will start at either 1 p.m., 4 p.m. or 7 p.m.
The first two games of the series will be televised by NBC Sports Network and streamed on Peacock. It could remain that way for the third game or get bumped up to NBC if it’s one of the only games left that day.
Tom McCarthy will handle the play-by-play duties on the TV broadcast and will be joined by one analyst from each team — Geoff Blum from the Astros and Steve Stone from the White Sox — in the booth. Former big-league reliever Adam Ottavino also will provide analysis in the series.
