The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Harvest Luncheon, presented by FiberMax-BASF, on Thursday, October 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Learning Center. This year’s luncheon will feature Tom Sell, a fifth-generation West Texan, conservative leader, small business owner, and longtime advocate for the agricultural industry. “Agriculture is the backbone of this community, and we at FiberMax BASF are incredibly proud to be able to sponsor the Harvest Luncheon. Community events like

this are important for not only education but fellowship.” -Kerry King, Cotton Seeds Research and Production Manager. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, Tom earned both a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a law degree before beginning a career focused on serving West Texas and advancing the interests of farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.

Tom began his career working for Congressman Larry Combest (R-TX19), serving as his right-hand man while Combest chaired the U.S. House Agriculture Committee.

During his time in Washington, Tom played a key role in advancing major legislation impacting agriculture, including the 2002 Farm Bill and the landmark Crop Insurance

Reform Act of 2000. After returning to Lubbock, Tom co-founded a local business with former Congressman Combest. Together, they built a respected firm that continues to

champion the interests of West Texas producers, families, and communities across the southern High Plains and beyond.

Tom’s life and career are deeply rooted in faith, family, and service. He and his wife, Kyla, his college sweetheart, raised their four children in Lubbock and remain active

in their church, community, and alma mater. Tom and Kyla also regularly mentor students at Texas Tech’s Davis College of Agriculture.

At this year’s Harvest Luncheon, Tom will share his perspective on agriculture, West Texas, and the values that continue to shape the region. Drawing from his experience

in Washington, his work with agricultural producers, and his roots in the South Plains, Tom will offer insight into the challenges and opportunities facing agriculture and

rural communities today.

Sponsorships for this event are available. A table for 8 can be purchased for $500.
