HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A man was killed, and his daughter was shot at their home in east Harris County on Monday morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said the victims were found with gunshot wounds in the 5400 block of Redell Road.
According to HCSO, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His daughter, who is in her late teens, was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital by LifeFlight, deputies said. According to the sheriff, the daughter was hospitalized in serious or critical condition and went into surgery.
Investigators said the suspect fled the scene after shooting both victims, but so far, they don’t know who or why.
Deputies said there was one other man who was in the home with the victims when the shooting happened, but he was not directly involved and is not a suspect.
SkyEye13 flew over the scene and captured footage of crime tape strung up in front of several mobile homes along the road. Deputies were also seen marking a trailer and a pickup truck with red tape.
The investigation is ongoing, with homicide detectives and CSI responding.
