AUSTIN— The Texas Veterans Commission unveiled a streamlined online platform designed to help veterans navigate the burden faced when jumping through administrative hoops while seeking state services.

Texas Veterans Access, which launched on September 25th, combines multiple TVC programs into a single digital entry point. Veterans, current service members, and military families can now create a reusable profile. Through this entry point they can submit service requests, and monitor progress through one platform rather than having to go through multiple offices and phone lines.

“When a veteran reaches out for help, we want to make the next step easier,” Texas Veterans Commission Chairwoman and Navy veteran Laura Koemer said in a statement. “They shouldn’t have to know which office to call or which programs door to knock on. Tell us what you need and let us help make that direct connection.”

The electronic database was established in the 89th Texas Legislature through Senate Bill 1814.

The platform combats a persistent challenge that veterans have to go through when seeking assistance. Traditionally, veterans who need multiple services had to contact multiple different TVC offices, repeat their information over again, and track all requests. Instead, the Texas Veterans Access program uses Texas by Texas accounts to give users a reusable profile to submit the requests. This allows the information to follow the veteran rather than requiring repeated explanations.

The program is set to launch in three-phases. Friday’s launch began phase one with four TVC programs: Health Care Advocacy, Women Veterans Program, Veteran Entrepreneur Program and Veterans Mental Health. The second phase of the program will go into education and grants in 2027 and end with claims and veterans’ employments services incorporated in 2028.

“For nearly 100 years, the Texas Veterans Commission has evolved to meet the changing needs of the people we serve,” TVC Executive Director and retired U.S. Army Colonel Tom Palladino said in a statement. “Texas Veterans Access is the next step in that service. We are starting deliberately, listening to veterans, families, and our frontline teams, and building from there. The technology may be new, but our mission is not: to serve Texas veterans well.”
