HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A former Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy is back behind bars for the third time in a month, this time accused of sending an unwanted nude photo of himself to a relative.

Teofilo Chacon, 31, was arrested Monday on a charge of sending obscene material to his wife’s cousin, according to court records. He had previously been arrested twice while still employed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Court records state that tattoos visible in a nude photograph helped identify Chacon as the person who allegedly sent the image. The same tattoos are visible in his jail booking photo.

Chacon appeared in court Monday night, marking his third arrest since Aug. 28.

According to court records, Chacon was first charged Aug. 28 after he allegedly took a phone away from his soon-to-be ex-wife as she tried to call 911. Records state he was threatening her as she tried to leave with their children.

He was arrested and charged again on Sept. 4 after authorities accused him of violating bond conditions related to that case.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Chacon later resigned while under internal investigation. Online records show he had worked for the department for six years and that his last day was September 8.

His latest arrest involves allegations that he sent a full nude photograph of himself to his wife’s cousin.

During Monday’s court hearing, a prosecutor also alleged that Chacon threatened to call the woman’s husband and falsely claim the two were having an affair.

The prosecutor also said Chacon’s actions caused a school in Bryan, Texas, to go into lockdown. No additional details were released in court about the lockdown.

The magistrate set Chacon’s bond at $85,000, citing concerns about public safety.

“There are sufficient factors that lead this court to believe significant safety concerns,” the magistrate said.

Chacon’s attorney of record did not respond to requests for comment.

Before joining the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Chacon worked for the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office. A public defender said in court that Chacon is currently a student.
