CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) – The following information was provided by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office:
A woman has been arrested in connection with the escape of inmate Tre’Veon Jackson, who was captured last week in Texas.
On Monday, Sept. 28, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Mikhala Duncan on a charge of accessory to simple escape.
According to investigators, detectives uncovered evidence showing Duncan met with Jackson at least twice in Texas after he contacted her following his breakout. Authorities determined Duncan was also with Jackson the night he was apprehended in Marshall, Texas.
Investigators say Duncan admitted she knew Jackson had escaped from custody when he reached out to her and when she went to meet him. She reportedly told detectives that on the night of his arrest, she brought their child so Jackson could spend time with them.
Duncan was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on one count of accessory to simple escape.
Deputies say the investigation into Jackson’s escape remains ongoing.
