Prolonged traffic closures could make you late several times this week. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is temporarily shutting down busy routes on the Northeast side of San Antonio.
TxDOT is blocking off the following routes each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday, September 30.
TxDOT says drivers on the NB I-35 frontage road north of Space Center Drive will exit right onto Industry Park Drive. From there, they can re-enter the NB I-35 frontage road at the next entrance ramp.
Folks on the southbound I-35 frontage road will follow signs to enter the southbound I-35 main lanes north of Walzem Road. They can use the Eisenhauer Road exit ramp to get back to the frontage road.
The following routes will close nightly through Thursday, October 1. The shutdown begins at 9 p.m. each night and continues through 5 a.m. the following day. TxDOT says it will last from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday, October 2.
TxDOT is recommending the following detour guidance in a media release. End dates are subject to change during severe weather events.
