After years of waiting, one of Boerne’s most highly anticipated new dining options is finally set to open its doors at a sprawling Hill Country shopping destination that began welcoming its first customers just a few months ago.
Panda Express will celebrate its long-awaited grand opening at the Boerne Town Center on Friday, October 2 at 9 a.m. The family-owned company, founded in Glendale, California, opened its first chain in 1983. It is the largest American Chinese dining concept in the United States.
It’s the small Hill Country town’s first-ever Panda Express location, and is part of several other “firsts” bringing more fast-casual, city-style amenities to Boerne. The San Antonio-area suburb opened earned its first Chicken Salad Chick this past June. Plans have also been filed for a Sprouts Farmers Market, a KFC, and construction work is currently underway on an upcoming Freddy’s Frozen Custard.
Panda Express is known for its popular dishes like orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, chow mein, and broccoli and beef.
“We hope to be a lasting part of the community and welcome all guests into our doors to try our American Chinese favorites and discover their own,” a Panda Express rep, Taelor Wilson, said in a statement shared with MySA.
The restaurant will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Boerne’s Chamber of Commerce at its grand opening on Friday. It also plans to present a $1,000 check to charity. Promotional gifts will be available with purchase.
