The theme of the eighth San Antonio Black International Film Festival is “History Uprising.” The independent film festival will feature documentary, narrative, and short film screenings, parties, panels and special events. Highlights include “The Dichotomy of Hattie McDaniel,” a feature about the first Black woman nominated for an Oscar, and the documentary “Surviving Biafra: Voices From the Nigerian Civil War.
