Fans Vintage has gone from setting up temporary pop-up racks around campus to building a permanent home on West Berry Street.
The vintage clothing business began as a class project in TCU’s Neeley School of Business in 2020.
They specialize in rare and vintage TCU apparel and opened their storefront at the start of the summer, marking a new chapter.
The storefront had a soft opening around TCU commencement weekend, followed by a full opening about a month later.
“My professor was Michael Sherrod, and he taught a class called ‘Venture Ideas,’” said Lindsey Dixon, owner of Fans Vintage. “He reminded us that the hardest part of entrepreneurship is executing an idea, so he made us do that in 90 days.”
Dixon already had an interest in vintage clothing, so she started an Instagram account for Fans Vintage. By the third home football game, she was setting up pop-up shops outside Dutch’s Hamburgers and Common Grounds.

The pop-ups helped Fans Vintage grow, but setting up each event was demanding. Dixon said she would wake up at 5 a.m., load the merchandise and spend hours setting up.
“It takes a toll and it’s been getting hotter and hotter, so I thought, let’s try and find a storefront,” Dixon said.
Finding a storefront wasn’t easy. After a three-year search for the right location, Fans Vintage found a permanent home on West Berry Street, just blocks from campus.
“Being from Canada, my family never followed sports like this as closely,” Dixon said. “I’ve always been a huge sports fanatic and getting involved in this community has been really cool.”
When Dixon created Fans Vintage, she established three core values that aligned with her own: passion, community and integrity. She wanted the storefront to serve as a gathering place for the community.
“Community is the whole reason I have been able to go from tiny pop-up shops outside the back of my Jeep, to a truck boutique, to now having a storefront,” Dixon said.
Now, the permanent storefront will serve the community that helped build Fans Vintage year-round.
