— No. 25 Kansas (1-1) is coming off an 87-74 loss at No. 25 North Carolina on Nov. 7. Through two games, Kansas is averaging 84.0 points per game and has a plus-15.0 scoring margin. The Jayhawks pull down 35.5 rebounds per contest with a plus-3.0 rebound margin. KU averages 17.0 assists and 6.0 steals per contest. KU’s 2.00 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks second in the Big 12 and 36th nationally. KU is also second in the league, 55th nationally, in blocked shots (5.5). The Jayhawks are fourth in the Big 12 in three-point field goal percentage (42.3%), which is 33rd nationally, and in threes made per game (11.0), which is 54th nationally.

— Senior guard Melvin Council Jr. is averaging 8.0 points per game and he leads KU with 11 assists, while freshman guard Kohl Rosario (6.5 ppg) has started both
games this season.

— Other KU regulars include senior guard Jayden Dawson (4.0 ppg, two threes), redshirt-sophomore guard Elmark Jackson (3.0 ppg), and redshirt-sophomore guard Jamari McDowell (1.5 ppg).

— Kansas returns six letterwinners from the 2024-25 season. Bidunga started six games last season. Jackson was a redshirt in 2024-25. He started 17 games in 2023-24 and returns after a torn patella injury that occurred in June 2024. McDowell took a redshirt in 2024-25. McDowell played in 31 games in 2023-24 and averaged 7.2 minutes per contest.

— Kansas welcomes eight newcomers to the KU squad, featuring Peterson, the top-rated recruit in the nation. There are four upperclassmen transfers on the newcomers list with Council, White, Dawson, and graduate guard Nginyu “Gee” Ngala.

— Peterson, the third No. 1-ranked national recruit to play for Self at Kansas, joining Andrew Wiggins and Josh Jackson, is surrounded by a talented freshmen class this year, including Rosario, Tiller, Paul Mbiya, Samis Calderon, and Corbin Allen.

— Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is 1-2 on the season after its 85-77 loss on Nov. 8 at Tarleton State. The Islanders are looking to end a two-game losing streak. A&M-Corpus Christi is coached by Jim Shaw, who is 42-28 in his third season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

— Kansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi have met just once, with KU winning 82-41 on Nov. 23, 2010, in Allen Fieldhouse.
