LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Sarah Allen, director of Career and Technical Education for Lubbock-Cooper ISD, has died at age 46.
Allen worked at Lubbock-Cooper for 15 years, first as a classroom teacher and later as the CTE director.
The district says Allen started the district’s culinary arts program as an after-school cooking club and grew it into one of the most respected school culinary programs in Texas.
She was recognized as a National Teacher of the Month in 2021 and as Texas Family and Consumer Science Teacher of the Year in 2024.
Her funeral service is Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, near Indiana Avenue and 98th Street.
