LUBBOCK, Texas (November 12, 2025) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals close out the regular season Wednesday at 6 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center, hosting Midwestern State in their Senior Night matchup. The stakes are high for LCU, as a victory would guarantee the Lady Chaps at least a share of their first-ever Lone Star Conference regular-season championship and mark the program’s 14th overall conference title — their first since capturing the Heartland Conference crown in 2018.

LADY CHAP NOTES
» LCU volleyball (22–6, 14–2 LSC) looks to close its regular season on a high note Wednesday after having its nine-match home win streak snapped in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Angelo State. The defeat ended a three-match win streak and marked just the Lady Chaps’ second Lone Star Conference setback of the year, but they remain atop the LSC standings with a .875 winning percentage. LCU has already secured a berth in the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament and sits one win away from clinching at least a share of the program’s first-ever LSC regular-season title and its 14th conference championship overall — the first since winning the Heartland Conference title in 2018 (prior titles include 12 Sooner Athletic Conference titles and the 2018 Heartland title). The Lady Chaps, who earlier this season enjoyed a 15-match win streak, enter Wednesday’s Senior Night contest with a 10-3 home record and 22 total victories, their highest single-season total since posting 24 wins in 2012. A 15th conference win would be their highest single-season conference win total in program history.
» Lubbock Christian continues to set the offensive standard in the Lone Star Conference, leading the league in both kills per set (13.85) and assists per set (13.15) — figures that rank No. 22 and No. 15 nationally, respectively. The Lady Chaps also rank third in the LSC and 10th nationally in digs per set (18.96), and their balanced attack is hitting .217 on the season (6th LSC, 81st nationally).
» Statistically, LCU remains among the most complete teams in NCAA Division II, ranking No. 1 nationally in total kills (1,468), total assists (1,394), and total attacks (4,221). The Lady Chaps are also No. 2 nationally in total digs (2,010) and rank 5th in the LSC (61st nationally) in total blocks (200.5). Defensively, they’re fourth in the LSC and 63rd nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.157).
» Freshman setter Camdyn Sears continues to deliver one of the top rookie campaigns in Division II. She leads the Lone Star Conference in both assists (1,074) and assists per set (10.33), ranking 4th nationally in total assists and 24th nationally in assists per set. Sears has already guided the LCU offense to the top of the LSC charts in kills and assists per set while adding 315 digs (3.03 per set) and 18 double-doubles this season.
» Senior middle blocker Lily Bickley continues to anchor the front line with elite efficiency and consistency. She ranks 5th in the LSC and 69th nationally in hitting percentage (.337) while placing 7th in total kills (313), 8th in total blocks (82), and 13th in points per set (3.52). Bickley is one of only two players in the league ranked in the top 15 in both kills and hitting percentage and has tallied 19 double-digit kill matches, including her 58th career 10+ kill outing last week.
» Freshman outside hitter Emilee Sikora has emerged as one of the top young offensive weapons in the conference, ranking 8th in the LSC in kills per set (3.16) and 14th in points per set (3.46). Her 313 total kills are tied for 7th in the LSC and 76th nationally, while her 946 total attacks rank 4th nationally. Sikora has recorded 16 double-digit kill matches and is averaging 1.46 digs per set, showcasing her all-around game.
» Libero Abby Dominguez continues to lead one of Division II’s best defensive units, ranking 3rd in the LSC and 49th nationally in digs per set (4.81) and 3rd in the LSC and 18th nationally in total digs (510). She has produced 11 matches with 20+ digs, including a season-high 34, and anchors an LCU back row ranked No. 2 nationally in total digs and 3rd in the conference in digs per set. Saturday, she becomes the first Lady Chap to achieve 500 digs in a season since Maddie DeGuire completed the task in 2019, and the 10th Lady Chap to reach the marker in the current rally-scoring era (2008).
» Junior middle blocker Bryleigh Schweer provides strong net defense and offensive efficiency, ranking 7th in the LSC in blocks per set (0.95) and 6th in total blocks (91) while hitting .291 (8th LSC). She’s averaging 2.03 kills and 0.95 blocks per set, highlighted by a career-best 19-point performance (15 kills, 6 blocks, ace) earlier this season at UT Dallas.
» Senior outside hitter Payton Murray has found late-season form, posting double-digit kills in consecutive matches (on Oct.31 vs. Texas Woman’s and Nov. 1 vs. DBU) for the first time since September. She’s averaging 2.59 kills per set and ranks among LCU’s top five attackers in total kills (184), contributing a veteran scoring presence that balances the Lady Chaps’ offensive depth.
» Defensively, LCU’s depth has been key to its success, as five different players average over two digs per set and seven players have recorded at least 20 total blocks.
LOOKING AT MSU
– LCU and Wichita Falls, Texas based Midwestern State are scheduled for their 51st all-time meeting, as LCU holds a 33-17 all-time series lead. The Lady Chaps have won 17 of the last 20 meetings, including a 3-1 win in their last meeting (Sept. 28, 2024 in Wichita Falls). LCU, who have won the prior five overall meetings, have won five straight meetings in Lubbock (LCU is 12-7 all-time against MSU in Lubbock).
– Midwestern State enters its regular-season finale at Lubbock Christian 16-9 overall and 9-7 in the Lone Star Conference, still fighting for a postseason berth. The Mustangs opened 6-0 and boast a 10-2 home record but have battled inconsistency down the stretch. MSU sits ninth in the standings, just behind Oklahoma Christian (9-6), and needs a win Wednesday to stay in the race. The Mustangs hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over OC, meaning a victory paired with an OC loss in its final two matches could secure MSU a spot in the LSC Championship. A loss, however, would force a scenario in which the Mustangs would need OC to lose out. UT Permian Basin (7-8) is also in the picture, as they have not been mathematically eliminated.
– Junior setter Alayna Guerrero ranks first in the Lone Star Conference and 20th nationally with 10.42 assists per set, surpassing the 1,000-assist mark on the season (1,011). She’s been the engine of a Mustang offense that averages 12.31 assists per set, ranking sixth in the LSC and top 50 nationally.
– Senior outside hitter Trinity Vinzant stands among the league’s most complete attackers, ranking top five in the LSC in both kills per set (3.28) and points per set (3.89). She’s also among the national leaders in total kills (318) and aces (40), sitting second in the LSC in aces this season.
– MSU has built its success around defense, ranking second in the LSC and top 10 nationally with 19.09 digs per set. Senior Demi Stauffenberg leads a deep back-row rotation featuring four players with 275+ digs, fueling a defense that has held opponents to just a .173 hitting percentage—sixth-best in the league.
