When they arrived at the scene, they found two male victims who had gunshot wounds. One of them, 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second, a 15-year-old juvenile, was taken to the hospital where he is said to have died from his injuries.
Deputies say they also found the victims’ mother, 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon, at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries and took her to the hospital. Officials say investigators determined that Lemmon was responsible for the shooting.
Officials say once Lemmon was released from the hospital, she was taken to the Wayne McCollum Detention Center and charged with two counts of Capital Murder. Her bond is pending arraignment.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office has not released what led to the shooting and will not be releasing the name of the juvenile victim.
