HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — To commemorate it’s 25th Season game, the Houston Texans are planning to pull out all the nostalgia as they play the in-state rival, the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Texans played their very first game against the Cowboys on Sept. 8, 2002, now at the re-named Reliant Stadium.

BEFORE THE GAME

For the 25th Season game, all spectators who arrived at Reliant and have their ticket scanned before 11:30 a.m. will be given a Commemorative Legacy Ticket from the inaugural Texans vs. Cowboys game or a 25th Season Trading Card Pack where fans can get a chance to find the rare AJ 80 Gold Card that is eligible for prizes and exclusive deals. Fans will also have a chance to purchase a limited edition 25th anniversary t-shirt available at the team shop.

The pre-game festivities include appearances from Texans legends Chester Pitts, Jarrod Baxter, Ramon Walker and Johnathan Well, who will lead the “H-Town” chant ahead of kickoff. Fans will also be able to hear multi-platinum artist Clay Walker perform the National Anthem. In tandem with the anthem, the team will have a bald eagle demonstration. Before kickoff, the coin toss captain will feature familiar faces surrounding the organization, including Lady Texan Jamila Ryans, head coach DeMeco Ryans’ wife and VP of the Houston Texans Foundation, Hannah McNair.

Banking on the nostalgia, there will be a Texans Cheerleaders performance by the 2026-2027 roster and a special appearance by cheer alumni representing all 25 seasons.
