Halloween is around the corner.

Samantha Thornfelt

There are three types of people in this world. The large majority who classify themselves as Christmas people. The offshoots who claim an obscure holiday like Valentine’s Day or Thanksgiving Day. And finally, the large contingent of people for whom Halloween is their favorite holiday.

For the latter, Halloween is really a month-long celebration. And we have to give it to them, they often throw a damn good party. While there’s no statistical proof, it seems there’s a large overlap between the people who enjoy the theatrics and drama of live music and the one night of the year where dressing up and performing is the status quo.

So if you’re looking for a musical event that isn’t a house party, here’s your guide to shows around All Hallows’ Eve in Big D.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is playing quite possibly the greatest Halloween movie of all time with a live score Oct. 9-11. This one is for the folks who might be busy on Halloween Day this year; after all, it is a Saturday.

Black Flag at AM/FM

Black Flag was one of the first punk outfits of the ‘80s before breaking up in 1986. Since then, they’ve recruited almost an entirely new roster, with only guitarist Greg Ginn remaining. Now Texas-based, they’ll play a Halloween day show at the outdoor venue.

Dexter and the Moonrocks at the Bomb Factory

Dexter and the Moonrocks are having a good year. The Texas band from the middle of nowhere has had a few songs rise to TikTok virality. This year, they’ll be playing a show at the Bomb Factory on the night of Halloween. The band is known for its commitment to bits, so if you’re looking for a good time, this will be it.

LadyLove’s Halloween Bash

One of the most popular bars in Dallas is throwing a Halloween bash. The bar encourages dressing up for its theme nights pretty much all month long, so get ready for what they have in store for this spooky season. It all culminates in one big Halloween party on Oct. 31 woth DJs Brandon Blue and Rooney Toons.

Stage Fright: A Halloween Family Festival 2026

On Halloween morning, the AT&T Performing Arts Center is throwing its 5th annual Halloween Family Festival. As a bonus, the Dallas Zoo brings some spooky animals to this celebration. There will be DJs and dance parties that are safe for kids, too.

Little Big Town

Country is probably not the first genre of music you think of around the spookiest holiday of the year, but Little Big Town might challenge that. The Grammy-winning quartet’s For the Art Of It Tour is coming to the Music Hall at Fair Park on Oct. 31.
