SAN ANTONIO – A woman was pulled from Woodlawn Lake Friday afternoon after video showed her jumping into the water.

The rescue happened just after noon near where Alazán Creek flows into the lake on the West Side.

Video shows the woman standing on a concrete embankment before jumping in and swimming a short distance. San Antonio firefighters then threw her a rope and pulled her to safety.

It’s unclear why the woman jumped into the water.

She appeared to be checked out by first responders before walking away.
