Construction Services recently brought school communities together for a design charrette at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, marking an important step in the planning process for campuses included in the 2026 bond program.

Standing for Bold, Innovative, and Generational, the B.I.G. Design Charrette gave participants an in-person opportunity to help shape the vision for their future campuses. Attendees learned about specific plans for their individual school communities while working directly with architects to share ideas, priorities, and perspectives that will help guide the design process.

The event reflects the district’s commitment to ensuring community voices are an important part of the planning process. By bringing different voices to the table early on, the district can build modern learning environments that reflect the identity, needs, and aspirations of students and families it serves.

As planning for the 2026 Bond Program moves forward, the ideas shared during the charrette will help lay the foundation for the next generation of Dallas ISD schools, with campuses designed not only for today’s students but for generations to come.
