Because nobody has time for bland bagels or (eye roll) yet another overpriced flight of “sips and bites.”

Chef Kendall Williams of Bluebonnet & Thyme designed this spin on the Southern staple to combine everything she loves: sweet, savory, crispy and a little heat. The waffle takes its cue from red velvet cake, complete with a frosting-inspired glaze. And that golden, juicy whole fried bird? To Williams’s taste, the hot honey-topped Cornish hen brings “better flavor than traditional fried chicken.” This brunch plate is damn sexy and, surely not coincidentally, abundant enough to share with a special friend.
