Several Fort Worth-area football teams had big wins in Week 6.

Here are five takeaways from the action:

Fort Worth Wyatt stays undefeated, downs Brewer

The Fort Worth Wyatt Chaparrals (6-0, 3-0) are still undefeated.

They took down White Settlement Brewer 34-28 Friday, cementing themselves as a District 4-5A Division I championship front-runner along with Fort Worth Arlington Heights, another undefeated squad. The Yellowjackets beat Paschal in the Battle of the Bonfire Friday.

For now, Wyatt has the most impressive resume in the group, as it has wins over Brewer and Paschal, two of the district’s most competitive teams. The Chaparrals will face South Hills Wednesday, Oct. 14 and North Side Saturday, Oct. 24 before taking on Arlington Heights Friday, Oct. 30 in a high-stakes game that could ultimately decide the district title.

In 2025, Wyatt lost 60-34 to Heights and fell to Richland 77-43 in the bi-district round. The Chaparrals won a share of the district title, as Heights lost to Saginaw.

It could be a big season for Wyatt, as it may have prime positioning come playoff tine. The Chaparrals last won a postseason game in 2000, when they reached the state quarterfinals.

Euless Trinity beats South Grand Prairie

Euless Trinity (3-2, 2-0) picked up a critical District 8-6A victory Friday that could pave the way to the program’s first district championship since 2021.

The Trojans beat South Grand Prairie 24-17, establishing themselves as the 8-6A team to beat. The Trojans have made the playoffs in 28 consecutive seasons and have won three total state championships.

The past four seasons have been challenging, as the Trojans have shared districts with the likes of Southlake Carroll and North Crowley. With a strong squad out of the way, they can capitalize on a relatively easier schedule, although L.D. Bell and Haltom shouldn’t be overlooked.

Haltom, L.D. Bell keep winning

Both Haltom (2-3, 2-0) and L.D. Bell (3-2, 2-0) found the win column in Week 6.

Haltom blanked Irving Nimitz, 56-0, while L.D. Bell dominated Grand Prairie, 37-6. The Buffs and the Blue Raiders are both undefeated in district play and will face off in a high-stakes Week 7 clash.

Haltom has had a successful stretch the past few seasons. After missing the playoffs in three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023, the Buffs made the postseason in 2024 and 2025 and aim to make it three years in a row.

“Haltom hasn’t made the playoffs three years in a row since the 90s,” Haltom head coach Jason Tucker said.

A district title could even be in the cards, but Tucker wants to focus on the present for the time being.

“We want to secure a playoff spot,” Tucker said. “If we can do that with some games to go, then we’ll talk about other things. … I learned that from Todd Dodge. We’re going to set some goals, but we’re not talking about winning state or Thanksgiving — none of that stuff until we qualify for playoffs.”

L.D. Bell is looking for program history of its own. The Blue Raiders haven’t made the playoffs since the 2013 season.

Bell is off to a fantastic start but will need to finish strong. After starting 3-0 in district play in 2025, the Blue Raiders lost some steam, dropping five straight games facing a tough schedule.

Not having to play area powers like Byron Nelson and Southlake Carroll will help, but big games against Euless Trinity, South Grand Prairie and Haltom await.

Eastern Hills defeats Benbrook

Fort Worth Eastern Hills beat Benbrook, 30-20, Thursday, moving to 2-0 in District 5-4A Division I play.

The Highlanders and Kennedale are the only two teams without a district loss. They faced off in the 2025 bi-district round with Eastern Hills taking an 22-17 win — that was the Highlanders’ first playoff win since 1999.

The Kennedale Wildcats also picked up a win (31-21) over Fort Worth Carter-Riverside, a squad Eastern Hills beat by 52 points.

That makes Eastern Hills the clear front-runner to win the District 5-4A Division I title, something that’s evaded them since 1975. The Highlanders have been thriving behind running back Chris Johnson, who has 841 yards and 16 TDs in five games.

Keller Fossil Ridge, All Saints, Brock seize wins

Keller Fossil Ridge (1-5, 1-1) picked up a 30-20 win, its first of the season, over Saginaw Friday.

That’s a great sign for the Panthers, a squad that went 1-9 with no district wins in the 2025 season. Fossil Ridge last made the playoffs in 2018. It’ll be an uphill battle to snap that drought but keep an eye on the Panthers to take a step in the right direction.

Fort Worth All Saints (5-2, 1-0) was also victorious, beating Fort Worth Christian 37-7 to start district play on Friday. The Saints are aiming to win three consecutive state championships and will face Southwest Christian in Week 7.

Another team that thrived was Brock. The Eagles (4-1, 1-0) started district play with a dominant 72-7 victory over Burkburnett.

Brock will face Glen Rose in Week 7 as it looks to win back-to-back district championships.
