Crash occurred before 3 a.m. Sunday near South Flores Street in Southtown.
SAN ANTONIO – A man died early Sunday after police say he tried to drive across train tracks on South Flores Street and was hit by an approaching train, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on South Flores Street near Nogalitos Street, a preliminary SAPD report stated.
Investigators said the man was attempting to cross the tracks as the train approached.
He was hit by the train and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Police said the train involved was an Amtrak train.
It was not immediately clear whether passengers were on board at the time of the crash.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash and gather additional details.
