Lake Worth police arrested a man after an hours-long standoff at his home on Saturday, according to a police press release.

Police were called to the man’s home in the 4200 block of Canyon Trail at around 11:33 a.m. to address a welfare concern, according to the statement. When they arrived, 40-year-old Anthony Danenza met them in the front yard of the residence before going back into the house and grabbing a handgun.

Danenza fired the handgun from inside the home and barricaded himself inside, police said.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s SWAT team was called to assist, and officers later safely arrested Danenza, according to the statement. No one was injured.

Danenza faces charges of nine counts of aggravated assault against a peace officer and four counts of deadly conduct, according to the statement. Fort Worth police have assumed control of the investigation.
