AUSTIN, Texas — Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is expecting a busy Monday as Austin City Limits Music Festival fans head home after the first weekend of the festival.

More than 35,000 passengers are expected to depart from the airport Monday, according to AUS, which issued a high passenger volume alert.

Airport officials recommend arriving at least 2.5 hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight. That leaves time for checking bags, returning rental cars and getting through security, the airport said.

ACL Weekend One wrapped up Sunday at Zilker Park after a soggy start. Rain delayed Saturday’s opening, and festivalgoers spent much of the weekend navigating mud on the park’s Great Lawn.

The festival returns to Zilker Park for Weekend Two from Oct. 9 to 11.
