WILLOW PARK
Cork & Pig Tavern is back, and this time it feels like Cork & Pig deja vu.
Six years after the West Texas grill, pub and pizzeria left a west Fort Worth location, a new Cork & Pig has opened in the shops at the District at Willow Park about 15 minutes west of Loop 820.
This is a new, sleek Cork & Pig. It’s in a new and Fort Worth-friendly strip center at 460 Shops Blvd., with a MELT Ice Creams next door and a Danny’s Greek Cafe nearby.
Cork & Pig is a solid wood-fired grill loosely related to the Tavern and Press Cafe restaurants, but with more cocktails and a pizza menu.
Since it closed in Fort Worth, readers have mentioned one brunch dish over and over.
So here’s the news:
Fruity Pebbles French toast is back.

French toast made with a heaping helping of Fruity Pebbles cereal and topped with vanilla ice cream was a favorite brunch favorite for both kids and grownups when Cork & Pig ruled the corner of Crockett and Currie streets.
Weekend brunch is a good time to go to Cork & Pig. It opens at 10 a.m., so you can down some huevos rancheros with chorizo and watch the football pregame shows.
Parker County families are busy with activities on Saturday morning and church on Sundays, so Cork & Pig isn’t as busy at midday as at night.
The brunch menu also includes pancakes with bacon, the restaurant’s wood-grilled steak and eggs and a clever breakfast pizza with pancetta, poblano and egg.
Lunch and dinner entrees include a prime rib French dip with Gruyere, another old favorite from the Fort Worth location.
Other items include a double-cut pork chop with bourbon cream sauce — that’s the No. 1 favorite dish at Southlake and Irving locations — plus a blackened rib-eye, a roasted beef rib, pork ribs, chicken and grilled salmon or fish tacos.
Cork & Pig started in San Angelo and has locations in Abilene, Midland and Odessa, so this is a solid contemporary restaurant from West Texas. Other locations ate in Southlake and Irving.
It’s open for brunch or lunch and dinner daily; 817-616-9777, corkandpig.com.
