HOUSTON – Houston’s youth basketball scene is gearing up for a weekend of competition, community, and plenty of fun at the first-ever H-Town Classic.
The free, 3-on-3 tournament is bringing sport, kids, families, and neighborhoods together in at the Academy Sports + Outdoors in Katy.
Teams from all over the Greater Houston area will compete, with each team is allowing up to 4 players.
There are four divisions: middle school boys, middle school girls…then high school boys, and high school girls. Grades 6 through 12 are covered, and the goal is for each team to play at least 2 games, with each game playing until first to 20 points or highest score within 20 minutes.
The big event is happening at the Academy Sports + Outdoors on I-10 and Grand Parkway in Katy October 17th and 18th, where they’ll transform the front lot into a basketball festival — with six, half-courts running at the same time.
Registration is free for every team, and for every single team that registers, Academy will donate $100 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.
And there’s a prize! Everyone on the championship team will walk away with a championship belt, as well as every player gets a goodie bag and a team jersey.
Registration ends on October 9th, so make sure you sign up now at academy.com.
