LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock County Clerk’s office is announcing a new service for the public through Tyler Technologies called Fraud Notify for property records in Lubbock County.
Property fraud is a growing white-collar crime where thieves record documents against a property in an effort to establish ownership for financial gain.
Once a person signs up, Fraud Notify will send an automated email alert any time a document is recorded in the office using the registered name. Documents included are deeds, deeds of trust, liens and notices. Court case filings are not included.
Fraud Notify is a way to help notify users from potentially becoming victims of property fraud. Users register their name to receive an email when a document containing the registered name is recorded. The system can provide early warnings of potentially fraudulent activity.
Upon receiving an alert, users will need to review the documents in person at the County Clerk’s office at 904 Broadway, Room 207, Lubbock, Texas, or purchase a copy.
Customers are encouraged to sign up using the link on the County Clerk’s section of the Lubbock County web page, https://www.lubbockcounty.gov.
