The restaurant was open for just over 13 months on Dallas’ McKinney Avenue. Gavin Humes, CEO of Scratch Restaurants, confirmed the closure and said it shuttered on Sept. 29, 2026, because of “an issue with the lease/landlord that we were unable to resolve.” It isn’t clear what the issue was.

NADC occupied a former two-story bar that construction crews renovated in just 21 days in mid-2025. The restaurant often felt dark and a little forlorn, and maybe that was on brand: Some of NADC’s dozen-or-so restaurants are in unexpected places. The remaining NADC in North Texas, in Fort Worth, is tucked inside a comedy club, a true “if you know, you know” location.

In Fort Worth and in Dallas, the burgers were worth the hunt. The restaurant name, NADC, stands for Not A Damn Chance, which is professional skateboarder and burger shop co-owner Neen Williams’ catchphrase.

Williams and Phillip Frankland Lee, a chef, created NADC in 2021 as a pandemic project.

The menu features one main burger. Customers can customize it, but, as Humes told The News, “we wouldn’t recommend it.”

Would Dallasites stand for a bossy burger menu?

Actually, I leaned in. NADC’s signature smashburger was delicious: small, juicy and rich throughout, and just on the edge of salty. Each one consists of two Wagyu beef patties topped with onions, American cheese, pickles, house-made burger sauce and “slightly tamed jalapeños,” according to the restaurant menu.

It seems especially satisfying as a late-night bite for bargoers, but I wonder if those crowds came. Humes said he’d consider looking for other locations in D-FW for NADC.

NADC Burger has one location in D-FW, at 604 Main St. (inside Big Laugh Comedy Club), Fort Worth. Three other NADCs are in the Austin area.
