One of the Internet’s most popular streamers had a rough end to a fun night in College Station early Sunday morning.
YouTube star Benjamin Beard, better known by his handle BenDaDonnn, was arrested on the Texas A&M University campus on a charge of evading arrest or detention. Video of the incident highlights a police officer tasing Beard, along with the content creator’s security guard—Kenny Carter—being put in handcuffs. Police charged Carter with interference with public duties.
Beard, 34, is a Miami native known for making comedy skits online and collaborating with other celebrities in viral social media videos.
According to TMZ’s initial report, the College Station Police Department said officers on the scene tried to clear Northgate, a College Station bar district full of patrons, after the Aggies’ 34-7 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks concluded late Saturday night. Beard and Carter were in a group that wouldn’t leave the area.
According to the department, the officer’s commands were ignored, and they attempted to arrest Beard. Carter slapped the officer’s hands during the process, which led to officers using tasers on Beard, who was allegedly trying to get away.
“Northgate is a great place to go and have a good time, especially after an Aggie football win,” reads a statement from a College Station Police Department spokesperson. “However, the dangers our officers face when dealing with overly intoxicated individuals, drivers, and patrons can quickly turn a good night into chaos.”
During Saturday’s game, Beard and Nayersina were featured on Texas A&M’s social media handles celebrating an Aggies touchdown, repeatedly yelling “Gig ‘Em” while on the sidelines.
Beard also joined the postgame celebration with players and coaches, singing Texas A&M’s fight song on the field.
After the game, multiple Texas A&M players tried to usher Beard into the Aggies locker room. However, video shows coaches adamantly trying to kick Beard and his group out of the restricted area.
“I really don’t give a f–k, y’all players brought me in there,” Beard said. “You know them old southern folk don’t be wanting you in there.”
Requests for comment from Beard went unanswered as of Monday morning. Beard’s bond has been set at $7,000, while Carter’s is $4,000.
