EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso County marked a milestone for a homegrown rock band, honoring The Roulettes as the group reached 10 years together and expanded its reach beyond the Borderland.
On Monday, El Paso County voted to pass a proclamation recognizing 10 years of The Roulettes.
Formed in 2016, the band has grown from playing cover songs at local venues to releasing original music.
Ten years later, The Roulettes’ single “Take (A Little More)” reached No. 47 on the Luminate/Billboard Top 50 Rock Songs chart. The song appears on the band’s self-titled debut album, recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo.
“This is bigger than just celebrating 10 years as a band,” lead singer Juan Flores said. “To have our hometown recognize that journey means more than we can put into words.”
The Roulettes include Flores on vocals, Junior Sabbath on lead guitar, Frankie Orona on bass, and Sergio Becerra on drums.
The band is also organizing Fright Fest for a second year.
