Ben Thanh Plaza is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a free event on Oct. 9 from 5-8 p.m. and a three-day sale from Oct. 9-11, 2026 at 1818 E. Pioneer Parkway.
The family-friendly event includes food, a VIP reception, “Black Friday” sale from 4-8 p.m. and free programming for kids including traditional Vietnamese lion dances (at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.), face painting, games with prizes and other activities.
The 13.1 acre shopping center houses around 50 stores and over a dozen dining options, including a new 16,000 sq. ft. commercial building and an outdoor food truck court and night market.
The new additions to the property are a result of a recent partnership between HKT Management, who manages Ben Thanh Plaza, the City of Arlington and the Arlington Economic Development Corporation.
According to Ben Thanh Plaza owner, David Dang, the new commercial building is at about 90% completion and will add five additional food establishments to the center.
Arlington’s International Corridor is a diverse, walkable area where residents and visitors can come together to celebrate and preserve multicultural heritage.
The City’s International Corridor Visioning Effort, adopted in March 2023, establishes recommendations to guide improvements in the area, including lighting and walkability, enhancing aesthetics and identity, and building community capacity. In November 2024, a Steering Committee was established to continue and implement the visioning effort.
“It’s an important corridor for us to invest in, so we can bring people together and help elevate east Arlington,” said Dang. “I feel that doing business in Arlington fulfills my American Dream.”
