UT-Arlington police are investigating the incidents, according to the statement. The university notified the campus community about the incident in compliance with federal rules.
According to the notice, UT-Arlington received a report from a student that the sexual assaults allegedly occurred in West Hall and in a West Hall restroom on or around Sept. 15. The alleged second assault happened “shortly after the first,” UT-Arlington said in the notice.
At this time, there is no ongoing threat to campus, officials said. Because the incident is under investigation, the school did not offer any additional details.
UT-Arlington Police asks anyone who has experienced sexual assault or who has information concerning this incident to call 817-272-3381.
“Community members are encouraged to remember that consent must be voluntary and ongoing. Consent cannot be inferred from being in a prior relationship, agreeing to spend time with someone, entering or remaining in another person’s residence, or previously engaging in sexual activity. A person may withdraw consent at any time,” the school said in the notice to students.
